Astonishing.

Unearthed… Incredible magic that’s fooled some of the most brilliant and creative people ever to have lived, often times with strong links to Edinburgh and Scotland. Enjoy an elegant, intimate and quite astonishing evening of magic, mystery and wonder in one of Edinburgh’s most historic and enchanting hotels – The Caledonian. A unique and spellbinding night out that you’ll be talking about for years to come!

Enchanting.

An icon on Princes Street since 1903, The Waldorf Astoria – The Caledonian combines modern luxury and Victorian style in a former rail station. Savour views of Edinburgh Castle, steps from the Princes Street Gardens. The Royal Mile and Edinburgh Old Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, are within a mile.

Magical.

I’m hugely excited to announce a partnership with the stunning Waldorf Astoria here in Edinburgh, known fondly as ‘The Caledonian’, for a short run of intimate, conjuring shows, strictly limited to 30 audience members.
During lockdown I started reading 100-year-old newspaper articles, magic circle meeting minutes from 1911 and hunting for out-of-print books written by famous, long since passed society magicians. I found stories of tricks that seemed incredible, but also tales of the greatest and most creative minds of the day being fooled by magic. Over a period of months I’ve meticulously reverse engineered and rebuilt many of these illusions for a modern day audience. These tricks fooled some of the greatest minds ever to have lived – but will these same tricks fool you, today?
